Shelyak Pf0008 fiber pick-off unit

Post by joeastro »

I have some Power Point slides 1 to 4, on interfacing the PF0008 fiber pick-off to your SCT F10 type telescope. I have had to make adapters and find some parts inorder to attach the fiber unit and align it with the F10 telescope which includes trying the F6.3 focal reducer. I think you only need the focal reducer if you have a spectrograph with F-number less than F6. Most of the table top spectrographs are F8 to F10, 0.5 meter Jarrall Ash 82-000 to 1.0 meter Spex 1702. I am attempting to interfaced it with a Joblin CP140 F2 fast scpectrograph via the fiber, but the spectral image is the hard problem interface as most CCD camers do not fit on this spectrograph. I am showing how to modify your Monochrometer to use a full spectral width from 4000A to 7000A. The Power Point slides are in a file folder on the yahoo groups Spectro-l and the Astronomic-Spectrograph groups.

Post moved to Spectrographs section.
Could you give us a link to your ppt presentations ?
