VSpec bug - elements tool above 10000A

Post by Robin Leadbeater »

A curious bug in Vspec.
If the wavelength range of the spectrum is beyond 10000A then the elements tool does not work correctly. No lines are exported to the spectrum, just some spurious false lines above 10000A.

Hi Robin
I'm not sure The element list contains data above this wavelegth.

Hi Valerie,

Sorry, the lines above 10000A are correct but when they are displayed, the lower wavelength lines are not shown. See attached screen shot with the Ne line exported. The spectra are the same except the spectrum has been cropped to <10000A in the lower version. I have also attached the dat file

Cheers

Have you tried to change the scale ? I see a big line at 2000 intensity, others at 15 or 20 maybe so small they do not show up.
Ooops, I tried with the file you sent. I cannot see them either...so the algorithm to display those tiny lines maybe not robust. I will have a closer look...
Thanks
