Last night I took a reference star (HD 158643) for one of my targets.

I was surprised to find that the H Alpha line was in emission.
This star is a A0V, not a B star.

My question is : is it a possible Be star ?

and a closer look to the Halpha region

Hello Olivier,

HD 158643 is listed as Be in SIMBAD
http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-b ... BAD+search
and in some papers has been classified as B9.5e
http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/VizieR?-source=B/mk
I dont know why it is not in BeSS though

Cheers
Robin

Thank Robin for your answer.

Maybe Coralie should have some information about why this star isn't in Bess.

For information, Coralie has just added this target in the BESS database.
