Occasionally you see a crazy spectrum that makes you think "what is going on ??" Take a look at AT2020cfg
https://wis-tns.weizmann.ac.il/object/2020cfg
The classifiers suggest a very reddened Ae/Be star. H alpha is certainly in emission and it is certainly very red and there are no molecular bands, suggesting a hot continuum.
The Na D absorption is unexpectedly weak though for high IS extinction. H beta is in absorption, H gamma is missing but there is an extremely strong emission line at H delta. There are several other unidentified emission lines which do not match He. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this strange star ?
Cheers
Robin
