LISA and H-alpha line

Hi,

I am starting again with my LISA and would like to know how exact does the 6599 Å line has to be at the position 2.716 mm from the center to the right.

I have a QSI 520i on my LISA and that gives me a calculated location of 1167 pixels or 367 pixels from the center to the right side of the image.

The position of the 6599 Å line ( mentioned in the LISA user guide) is at the moment at 1164 pixels. Calibrating with the integrated NEON lamp does not give me a good calibration on Vega for example.

Does ambient temperature play a roll in this case ?

Hi Rainer,

If your LISA only has the neon lamp I would recommend updating it to use the NeAr RELCO lamp.

That has many more lines, specially at the blue end and will give you a better calibration. Software like ISIS, Spcaudace, Demetra will find the lines for you automatically making the calibration easy

If your LISA only has the neon lamp I would recommend updating it to use the NeAr RELCO lamp.

Thanks Robin. Now that you mention it I remember that I played around with a Fluorescent lamp starter many years ago. I will try to repeat that exercise. I have a lot of those laying around here even already with a resistance in order to connect them to 120 Volt AC.

Hi Robin,

Coming back to this topic I have found starter lamps here in Mexico with Argon and Krypton lines and they look like this. In 2012 Richard Walker from Switzerland helped me to define the lines.
