Spectrum of UV Aur

This spectrum of the carbon Mira UV Aur was recorded shortly after it had passed through the maximum brightness of its pulsation cycle and shows strong Balmer emission lines. The magnitude recorded concurrently with the spectrum and used to flux calibrate it was V = 8.21.

The spectrum appears to be a close match to the carbon N-type star RS Cyg is Fig 8.16 of Gray & Corbally shown below.
