Dear All
I got a heads up from the discoverers of this SN in IC2536 and was able to take a spectra of it 3 days after it was discovered. It was mag V= 14.59 at the time (7th Jan 13) and was about 10 days before max.
I have now taken another spectra last night 17th and it has certainly changed.
The spectra are below

How low can you go?

so your last was at maximum light - we should have another few weeks before it dips too far to be out of range.

Hi Terry,
great observation. What is the SNR of your spectrum ? I try to figure out the faintest magitude SN spectra in the range of a Lisa/50cm scope suitable for idendification.
