"Nova" dans le Scorpion

Un objet de type nova a été détecté dans le Scorpion.

Sa magnitude actuelle est d'environ 12 (V).

Coordonnées
AD = 17:50:19.27
DE = -33:39:07.3
(J2000.0)

Il pourrait s'agir d'une nova symbiotique (nova très lente à partir d'un système symbiotique, tel AG Peg au XIXème sciècle et une décroissance qui a duré 120 ans, ou encore V1016 Cyg (outburst au début des années 60)

Ce type de nova est très rare. 7 seulement sont connues.

I took a spectra with my LISA last night of this star. There were passing clouds so it took some time to get enough signal but the resulting SN is about 50.
Lots of hydrogen emission.

A spectrum of OGLE-2011-BLG-1444 taken 24.9 July (of very low quality
compared to Terry spectrum) - more spectrum from southern observers are
welcome for confirm evolution :

Un spectre de OGLE-2011-BLG-1444 fait cette nuit (24.9 juillet) :



Je n'ai pas bien travaillé pour ce spectre, pris trop tard, défocalisation
(avec une fente de 18 microns et un télescope à f/4 faut faire
attention - erreur de débutant), une étoile très basse sur l'horizon,
faible transmission horizontale (il fait 28°C dehors en ce moment
à Toulouse), et il me semble
qu'elle a baissé d'éclat (AAVSO semble indiquer une chute d'une
magnitude ces derniers jours ?).

Le spectre de Terry est considérablement meillleurs. Je ne pense pas que
l'on puisse conclure sur des changements. Terry et observateurs sud, il faudrait
refaire des spectres.

Faisable depuis la france mais un peu délicat (surtout si l'éclat continu à baisser).

C'est quand même pas mal Christian à cette déclinaison.

Les premières mesures de l'AAVSO sont dans la continuité de ce qui a été observé depuis septembre 2011

Des variations cahotiques et rapides entre mag V 12 et 13 (environ)
Donc a priori, pas de baisse rapide.

Terry's sepctrum shows the peculiar spectrum of this object, with Fe II (42) multiplet but also He I lines (5876, 6678,7065).
The nature of the object remains unclear (nova-like, symbiotic nova)
To my knowledge, a symbiotic nova should show strong nebular lines, this not the case here (see V1016 Cyg, PU Vul, HM Sge for instance)

I took another spectra tonight. The exposure is 2x longer so the S/N is much better. The Ha line has reduced slightly in strength.

One question. Are you sure of "5894 A" feature ? It is near city light Na pollution. Your sky background is well removed ?

Could you precise for info the ISIS version number.

For archive and publication, I suggest transmit your spectra to me or to François Teyssier
(we hope add data during OHP workshop...).

Dear Christian.
I live in a rural area with essentially no light pollution. I will check the raw data when I get home but am pretty sure that other spectra taken that night do not have any problems. The only contaminant for this spectra was some moonlight but this should have been subtracted out. I use ISIS 5.2.0.
I have already sent the spectra to Francois.

I have checked the position of the emission lines in the spectra now. I was at work earlier today so didn't have the files available. The emission line is actually at 5875 so fits HeI rather than Na. There is no emission at the Na frequencies. There seems to be lots of He emission though with lines at 4922, 5015, 5876, 6678 and 7065.
