Hi - After a long summer break without internet access I have been catching up with Christian's work on Spectrophotometry. It seems to me that this could open up a new area for LISA users to make contributions to variable stars by looking for correlations between spectral changes and standard Photometry.
It would be good for observers like me if we could get Shelyak to produce a photometric slit for the LISA then I can continue to operate from the warmth of the house, only going out to open and close the observatory. I have managed to automated the calibration unit switching but swapping out the slit unit is too difficult a task for me to automate!
So I would ask Shelyak to consider providing a photometric slit for the LISA spectrograph and if others are interested for them to express it so as to influence them to do so.
Thanks Andrew
PS Looks like I missed a good Nova while I was away.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, it will be nice if Shelyak could produce this photometric slit.
I also remote my scope from home....

It's not too late : just the begining of forbidden lines.Andrew Smith wrote:

I wait for your spectra Andrew !
