Hello:
The graph corresponds to two corners of the region HAA Mira Ceti, with different resolution.
Regards, Joan.

Re: Mira Ceti
Very interesting, Joan
H alpha is obvious only at higher resolution
All the best,
François

Re: Mira Ceti
Hi Joan, François,
Very nice spectrum! Just a curiosity... I also took the spectrum of omi Cet on 22 november. After measuring the h-alpha line position I was impressed with the large redshift I found. On my spectrum the line is asymmetric and the peak is at 6566.3A (line position with ISIS function is 6566.6A). At first I thought about a wavelength calibration problem but I've checked with several lamp spectra (I take one every frame) and it looks ok. Joan, could you measure the line on your spectrum?

The line is shifted by about 3.5 A, ~160 Km/s. By compensating for heliocentric RV correction (-14.28 Km/s) and RV from Simbad (-63.50 Km/s), remain a redshift of about 82 Km/s. This value is still high. Do you know if this is peculiar? What would account for that?
