HD 57682 radial velocity ?

Post by Olivier GARDE »

By comparing 2 spectra of HD 57682 within one month interval, I found that the position of the H alpha line was shifted between the 2 spectra. And HeI 6678 appearing on the same spectrum remained unchanged.

I tried to find information about this star on the web but I only find some informations about the magnetism of this star.

Is there someone who have information on what is observed on this star ? HD 57682 is in BESS calatogue but classified in SIMBAD as O9 star.

Hi Olivier, very fast h-Alpha line changes, thank you for sharing the observation.

But... a good "magnetic" target for Christian?

Another paper found by Vizier (https://arxiv.org/abs/1101.4002) reports a note:

HD 57 682. A magnetic field has been discovered in this star (Grunhut et al. 2009). The spectral lines are extremely sharp and there are Balmer profile variations at high resolution very similar to those in the Of?p stars at earlier types.

Hi Andrew and Paolo,
Thank you for the papers...

I found also a link with some observations made by Benjamin Mauclaire, Thierry Garrel and Christian Buil :

Bonjour Oliver,

You're doing a good job, is a star very interesting.

We have passed step one observation night.

Amicalement, Joan.
