My name is Jeff Hopkins and I live in Phoenix, Arizona USA.
I have two backyard observatories one with an 8" SCT for photometry and a 12" SCT for spectroscopy.
My background is physics and engineering. For the past 30 some years i have been doing UBV photon counting astronomical photometry. About 5 years ago I started doing spectroscopy.
I have a Lhires III with two gratings 600 l/mm and 2400 l/mm gratings. I also have a couple of Star Analysers. I use RSpec to process the spectra. I recently published a book on astronomical spectroscopy aimed at the beginner with information that maybe helpful to the experienced observer. The title is "Small Telescope Astronomical Spectroscopy." More information can be found at http://www.hposoft.com/SB/SpectroBook.html
I have a web site at http://www.hposoft.com/Astro/astro.html
