Spectra-L200 Kits and accessories

Post by Ken Harrison »

After five years of designing and manufacturing the Spectra-L200 Kit for members of the astronomical spectroscopy group

I have decided to relocate the manufacturing of all future kits to JTW Astronomy.

This in part is due to the non-support of local suppliers here in Australia and also reflects the ongoing (and increased) demand for the instrument outside the original group membership.

We will endevour to maintain the pricing of the future kits at a "cost plus" level to support the amateur community and give maximum opportunity to encourage new astronomers into astronomical spectroscopy.

Besides the original kit, now with interchangeable gratings (150/300/600/1200/1800 l/mm), we can now offer a multi-gap reflective entrance slit plate (20/25/30/35/40/45/50/75/100 micron slits and 20/50/100 micron pinholes). The slit assembly also includes provision for a guide camera and an internal flip mirror to allow the users to use external reference lamps (neon/ Relco etc)
Fully finished, ready to use versions of the Spectra-L200 will also be made available.

I hope this venture will provide cost effective spectroscopes to the interested amateur and allow them to contribute to the growing area of -
