Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello to all,
I'm sorry, this is the good link, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eo7z16 ... sp=sharing.
How you can see, sure I couldn't pass a possible computer use exam..
If you have some problem with it, please tell me.
Regards, Joan.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hi,
I sent here two observations made between clouds with the NOU_T echelle, I hope they like you, in this year the weather is not very good. I hope that it will improve soon.
On the other hand, I promise myself I will have finished two new improved mechanical parts of NOU_T by next October. I will show you photos in that moment. My intention is that these new NOU_T are in case any of you want one.
Regards, J. Guarro.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello,
Sure you know that in this world perfection does not exist. So does not exist any spectrograph perfect. But I am glad with my NOU_T.
NOU_T medium resolution is near 9500, in the infrared extreme, ( Order 25 ), it is 6100 and in the ultraviolet one, ( Order 56 ) it is 8160.
On the other hand, how C. Buil has explained in some time, Schmidt plates, some CCD glass windows or some coatings in glass mirrors, they are barriers for some light wavelengths, and all of that had a really influence in the ending results.
I leave here two new graphics, sure you will note in them some noise it is due, ( I believe ), at the hot nights in this season, the temperature does not fall below 25º C.
Cheers, J.Guarro.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello,
I don not like show here only things that have worked out well for me, I am very glad show you my little dissasters
In these our spectrographic jobs, sometimes you might find with unexplained phenomena how I show here now, they often have their origin from simple causes, in this case I haven't been careful to cleanliness of the CCD window.., or maybe, the dust grain has entred from where I don't know.
When there are something that doesn't work well it is possible that you be able to pass long time thinking about it and you might be presented with jokes how like the ones I show here.
The lesson is, I need to be more careful.
I hope that you like it, J. Guarro.

Hi JG,
It is worrying that the flat did not remove them. Can you see them in the flat ?
Cheers

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hi Robin,
Your short question seems simple, but it has some conditionants. I will try to answer it with what I believe is the reality. It is possible that I will be wrong in my explanations.
First each type of spectrograph be able to do what it can do, no more. That sentence also serves our famous echelles.
The Tungsten light exposures aren't estrictly flats, they are linear gradient light indicators for each order.
You can see in these next pictures the different Plack temperature between Vega and NOU_T tungsten lamp. Really we should need one lamp with the same temperature than Vega or one of them with the same temperature for each star.
In this case, the tungsten light is really weaker in the orders 51 and 52 than Vega light.
The graphic shows that we need to extract of it some conditioning variables, because the result of exactly Planck each star curve, depends on the personal skills of everyone. When we show one graphic with the all order addition, we are showing the temperature curve of one star that the most nearly to the truth, no the truth.
In other words, you can't do background sky measures, you can't do variation temperature curves in RR Lyr, etc. with the NOU_T echelle. But you be able to do other works that need high resolution and the maximum information along the entire spectrum and their lines intensity and real variations.
Cheers, Joan.

Hello,
I show here two graphic more of Be stars make with the NOU_T spectrograph, It is possible that the results were better with one back illuminated ASI6200 camera, but I don't have any at the moment...
Cheers, J.Guarro.
